Now, Google has offered another Samsung Galaxy device on Google Fi for all customers. This time the device is a low-mid range 5G phone from Samsung. This device comes with 6.5 inch HD display. It will have 4GB of Ram and 64GB of internal storage. The processor includes the MediaTek 720 5G and 5000MAH battery. This device will cost $279.99 outright or $11.67/mo on the Google Fi service and website. Is this the best 5G budget phone available right now that cost under $300? After all it is a 2021 5G Android phone and that you can buy it from Google Fi right now. Hello everybody, this is my personally write about owning the Samsung Galaxy S20 5G Cosmic. I've ordered my Samsung phone from the Google Fi official website. The phone cost me $399.99 for being a Google Fi customer. On the website the phone is listed as a Designed For Fi phone. Now what does that truly means in lame terms for some that wont understand how it is suppose to work on the phone service? Glady you all are curious. This means that since the phone is designed for Fi, it will give me and you better coverage by intelligently switching between networks. By the phone switching between multiple cellular networks and wifi hotspots, the phone will have better and more coverage while traveling.
What are the cellular networks the phone connect to?
It connects to the T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular towers. It will also roam on the Verizon and At&t networks when the other 3 networks aren't strong enough or losing signal.
How Can You Tell If the Phone Is On a Different Network?
I've learned several ways you can find out and discover which network the phone is on at the time of use. Google Fi has a support page which details dialer codes for each of the networks to force switch to them when needed. All three codes will be shown below. There are several apps on the Google Play Store that anyone can download right now and install on their Android mobile devices to see exactly which network their phone is on. Just to name a couple of them, the most popular apps to use for identifying the networks and signals are apps called Signal Spy and the FiSwitch applications. The Signal Spy app will show you the name of the network in app, its logo or icon in the status bar of your mobile device, and shows the signal strength of the network. it also a bunch of other neat features which I will have in a list that are my favorites for using to find or switch networks on my phone. FiSwitch is a simple app to use, Once you install it and open it right up, everything is displayed right on the main page of the app showing each network and allow you to switch right from the main page. Did Your Samsung Galaxy S20 5G Really Switch Networks?
The moment of truth is finally here. Simple answer to this question is... YES! My newly 1 week old Samsung Galaxy S20 5G phone designed for Google Fi did switch networks without me having to force switch the networks to change. Even though I did force switch the networks on purpose for fun and testing, I let my phone and Google Fi both run their course. I took a lot of screenshots as well showing the phone switched networks and this can be seen on a video as well.

This my experience along using the Samsung Galaxy S20 5G on Google Fi phone service. It took full advantage of the Fi Network with switching of the networks and connected to the better networks or available networks. Recently Google Fi had announced and launched a new cellphone plan. The Simply unlimited plan. This plan is for those users who use their phones a lot and dont use mobile hotspots for other devices. The plan includes unlimited data up to 22GB and then slows down after you use up the high speeds. You will be able to use your data in US, Canada, and Mexico. You can make calls to Canada and Mexico at no extra cost. With this plan you are able to still get some of the neat features like customers on Flexible and Unlimited Plus plans will have such as unlimited calls and texts, privacy and security features, family features, the no contract and cancel anytime, and 24/7 customer support. The BIG 3 down sides to this plan are that it doesnt include Google One membership (only for the Unlimited Plus), no high-speed hotspot tethering support, and you wont be able to use your Data-Only sims, if you have them. This plan still includes most of the international features such as Wi-Fi calling to 200+ destinations and free texts to the other countries that are included. This plan will also allow you to add lines and other family members. Highly recommend this because it may seem very expensive for most single customers. The starting price for this plan for 1 line is $60 plus taxes and fees. By adding another line or 2, each line will become $30/line per month. 3 lines will actually become cheaper than some of the big carrier phone plans for just 1 single line. So there you have it. Hello everyone, this article talks about how to save some mobile data and how to protect yourself over unsecured Wifi and open Wifi connections. The application and service in discussion is called SAMSUNG MAX VPN. This is application was also known as Opera Max VPN years ago. Then Samsung acquired the service and application and renamed it Samsung Max VPN. As before its main goals is to help users save on data with their mobile plans and protect the devices over WiFi. Since then it has added new features and functions to the app and service. It now includes built-In app savings and built-in games. You also have options to change DNS and your location for VPN access. They also have a premium subscription where you can unlock more options and features. For now, I'm going to just stick with the freemium service and features of the app.
DATA SAVINGS FEATURES:
The data saving part is also available over WiFi as well. Using the Data Saving feature could be useful over at Home WiFi connections for those with a lot of devices connected and for people having buffering issues due to so many devices on the same network. Turning on this feature can free up some data for other users and devices. Not only that but using it on Wifi for test purposes to see well it works and if the apps you use can save on data.
For data saving on mobile data plans this could be useful for those on a low budget data plan (8GB of high speed data and under) and that have unlimited 2G data for things like browsing, emailing, and instant messaging. This mode will help even for those with or without data rollover. Because if you use this and have data rollover, your unused high-speed data can be carried over into the next billing cycle and that will free up more data and less use over WiFi connectivity. Carriers with rollover data are Google Fi, At&t Prepaid, US Mobile and Tracfone Wireless. This feature is best used for social media apps like Facebook and Instagram and also streaming apps and services like Youtube and Netflix. In most cases with using these apps with the Samsung Max VPN, you save up over more than 50% of your normal Data Usage! This would basically feel like free data! For the same price of a unlimited data plan or less. Now how cool is that!
NOTE:
If you are using a budget Android phone that includes Headphone Jack and FM radio, your music and podcasts are data free always. Also an app called HaystackNews TV will allow you to view local news streaming in offline modes without using up data. If you are on At&t Prepaid service, I also highly recommend signing up to HBO MAX or At&t TV for data Free movies and Live TV! These apps and services won't need the Samsung Max VPN app turned on to save on data plan.
