TextNow Is Testing New Beta Unlimited Data Plans: $4.99 Weekly & $18.99 Monthly

TextNow New Plans In Beta (Image created by ChatGPT)

If you've been using the TextNow Free Flex Plan, you may have noticed something new appearing inside the app. TextNow is currently testing new beta unlimited data plans, and they could save users a significant amount of money compared to previous pricing.

The new beta plans currently being spotted by some users include:

  • $4.99 Unlimited Data (7 Days)

  • $18.99 Unlimited Data (30 Days)

Since these plans are still in beta testing, they are not available to everyone. If you don't see them yet, don't worry—TextNow often tests new features with a limited group of users before rolling them out more widely.

Why This Is a Big Deal

For years, many TextNow users relied on hourly or daily data passes whenever they needed internet access away from Wi-Fi. The new beta pricing could make unlimited data much more affordable for people who regularly use TextNow as their primary or backup phone service.

If these prices become permanent, they would offer excellent value for:

  • Web browsing

  • Email

  • Navigation

  • Social media

  • Music streaming

  • Gig work apps

  • Everyday smartphone use

Depending on your usage, these plans could cost much less than many prepaid wireless carriers.

Perfect for Gig Workers

As someone who regularly tests phone services for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Instacart, and other gig economy apps, I'm excited about these beta plans.

Affordable unlimited data can help drivers stay connected without constantly purchasing hourly or daily data passes. Combined with TextNow's free calling and texting, this could become one of the most budget-friendly options available.

Keep Your Free Plan

One of the best things about TextNow is that the Free Flex Plan isn't going away.

You can still receive:

  • Free unlimited talk

  • Free unlimited text

  • Essential app data

  • A real U.S. phone number

The new beta plans simply give users another option whenever they want full unlimited internet access.

Are There Any Limitations?

Because these plans are currently in beta, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Not every account will see the offers.

  • Features and pricing could change before the official release.

  • Network management or reduced speeds after certain usage thresholds may still apply, depending on the final version of the plans.

My Thoughts

I've covered TextNow for quite a while, and it's impressive to see the company continue improving its wireless service.

Offering a $4.99 weekly unlimited data option and an $18.99 monthly unlimited data option could make TextNow even more attractive for people looking to lower their phone bill while keeping reliable nationwide talk, text, and data.

If these beta plans become available to everyone, I believe they'll be among the best values in prepaid wireless.

Final Thoughts

If you're a current TextNow user, check your app periodically to see whether you've been selected for the beta. Even if you haven't received it yet, it's encouraging to see TextNow experimenting with lower-priced unlimited data options.

I'll continue testing these plans as they become available and will post updates, speed tests, real-world usage, and comparisons here on the blog.

Save Even More With Cashback Debit & Credit Cards

One of my favorite ways to save money on wireless service is by paying with a debit or credit card that offers cash back on eligible purchases.

If you're planning to subscribe to one of TextNow's new beta unlimited data plans, consider linking a cashback payment method inside the TextNow app. Depending on your card's rewards program, you may earn cash back on your monthly or weekly payment, helping lower your overall cost over time.

Some popular options include:

While cashback percentages and eligible purchases vary by provider, it's always worth checking your card's current offers before making a payment.

For example, if you're paying $18.99 for the monthly unlimited data beta plan, earning even a small amount of cash back can help offset the cost. Over the course of a year, those savings can add up.

I always recommend taking advantage of every legitimate discount available. Between TextNow's affordable pricing and a good cashback card, you can stretch your wireless budget even further.
